Case study: tailored ecommerce for Fabrizio Galluzzo, fast funnel and high traffic

Fabrizio Galluzzo merch case study: ~45,000 visitors on day one, purchase in ~40s for converters. Tailored store built for traffic spikes.

If you do not know him yet: Fabrizio Galluzzo is a public figure with a very large following. When he promotes a piece of content, he can move thousands of people onto one URL within hours.

When he laid out his needs, the official merch store had to be built from scratch. His main fear was one thing: that the site would not hold social and community traffic, and that go-live would turn into a disastrous crash for his image. Among his requirements there was also an easy-to-use management dashboard and orders linked straight to the merch supplier’s site.

I proposed a tailored ecommerce built around that constraint: performance under load, a short purchase path, catalog on his characters. Live: fabriziogalluzzo.it.

Interactive pieces

On entry, a popup advergame opens, built around a line from one of his characters. I proposed the pressure-gauge game to Fabrizio as a direct reference. The gauge always lets you win, but it is tuned so the user feels like they won, and it pushes engagement and a coupon toward checkout. On this project it helped drive a very high visitor-to-customer conversion. The numbers stay private for privacy and Fabrizio’s call.

If gamification does not close toward an order, it is not worth the JS weight for me.

Carts and the sales path

People who add to cart and vanish are not written off: email marketing kicks in on abandoned carts, automatic reminders that bring them back to checkout. On merch pushed by posts and stories, that recovery matters as much as the product grid.

On the traffic worry: light pages, a clear path to payment, secure payments, baseline technical SEO (structure, meta, collection/product pages). Social traffic on a slow store burns money and reputation; I wrote about that in how much a slow website costs.

From go-live to now

On the first day online the store took about 45,000 visitors, with an average session of about 1 minute. Among those who converted, purchase landed in about 40 seconds: a concrete signal of an optimized sales funnel (discover → decide → checkout without wasted steps), not only a site that “survived the load”.

Absolute order volumes stay private. What I can say is that it was not an empty launch, and that the store still sells. Fabrizio is happy with it; I am even more so, because he is.

If you are putting merch or a B2C catalog online and need your own mechanics (game, coupon, cart recovery, dashboard, supplier integration), message me with goals and constraints. If a listing or a plain SaaS theme is enough, I will say so straight, without the runaround: I do not push a tailored build when it is not needed. More work under projects.
